Garments

how it works

All Made to Measure clothing services require an appointment. We will spend about an hour with you to review your style and fit goals, take the required measurements, try on sample garments and determine your final fabric and style choices.  These services are available to both men and women and require a 5-7 week lead time, unless a rush order is chosen. A gift certificate for a MTM suit is a great gift for those with love style and fit, or for those celebrating Graduation or a Wedding.

OUR CUSTOMER

We offer made to measure garments for men and women. Whether it is a tuxedo, a suit, a sport coat or pants, each piece can be fitted for all body types, all styles and for any occasions. We have had both men and women purchase a made to measure tuxedo for their own wedding day, and career suits made for those in business world or new grads.

PHILOSOPHY

We approach creating a garment through our made-to-measure program as a collaboration between us and our customer. Typically, if a customer wants to have a garment made, it is because they are not finding what they want in the usual ready-made retail world. Our role is to find out what goals our customer is looking to accomplish and create a garment to satisfy that goal, whether it is for fit, style or both.

THE HOW

We do not take body measurements when creating an MTM garment, we determine the best pattern to start with by using try-on garments, and then determine how to improve that pattern for each customer. Changes to the pattern can include adjustments for proportion, asymmetry, posture, shoulder slope, etc. This method allows the customer to see and feel the garments taking shape and allows them to be an active participant in the process. A made-to-measure garment is not the same as a true bespoke garment where a new pattern is hand developed for each customer, however, our partner factory allows 29 individual modifications to a jacket pattern and 13 individual modifications to a trouser pattern, allowing for a very close second to bespoke tailoring at a fraction of the cost.
